Background

I am a Professor in the Department of Psychobiology and Methodology in Behavioural Sciences, with the rank of Full University Professor, at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). I lead the research group “Cognitive Psychology: Measurement and Modelling of Processes”, whose activities can be consulted at https://memopro.weebly.com/. My teaching focuses on courses related to the construction of psychometric instruments, teaching the courses Measurement and Validity in the Master’s in Methodology of the Behavioural and Health Sciences https://www.metodologiaccs.es/. It is an inter-university Master’s with great prestige and international recognition for training in quantitative psychology; I am responsible for the practicum and deputy to the coordination.

In the successive calls for the evaluation of the quality of scientific output that are carried out in Spain over six-year periods, I have four recognised research periods (sexenios) awarded by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA). I have published more than 150 scientific documents, with an h-index of 21 at the end of 2022, exceeding 2,500 citations and with publications in the most prestigious journals in my field of knowledge, for example Multivariate Behavioral Research or Sociological Methods and Research.

I have directed or been a member of the research teams of some fifteen research projects and contracts, acting as an advisor for several international projects. I have supervised numerous Master’s theses and more than 18 doctoral theses—doctoral theses supervised for students from Spain as well as from other Latin American countries.

Since 2019 I have been editor of the Revista Iberoamericana de Diagnóstico y Evaluación – e Avaliação Psicológica, a journal indexed in WoS and Scopus, published by the Ibero-American Association for Psychological Assessment and Diagnosis (AIDEP-AIDAP).
